Is guest posting for you?
One way to get traffic to your site is to do a guest post. So how do you get yourself in position to post on someone else’s blog? Well one way is to make nice and become friends. If your friend has a blog why not trade posts once in a while to change things up. Sometimes blogging about another topic helps keep your blog fresh with ideas. Also it’s good link bait.
Building up a reputation of being a good blogger takes time. If you’ve got no reputation, starting with making thoughtful comments and establishing yourself as a regular on someone else’s blog can help get your foot in the door.
Either way good blogging takes time. However you can be assured that there is plenty of blog love happening online. So long as you take the time and of course write good posts you’ll get a shot. Just keep up the good work.
So you want to be a pro blogger?
Techcrunch made an interesting post about the state of blogging. It’s got lots of stats and pretty pie charts. Bottom line is if you want to be a pro blogger you gotta spend a lot of time at it. If the numbers are accurate the number of times you post a day is a good way to start. Over 40% of the top bloggers are posting 10 times a day! 10 times! For me finding 10 interesting articles to read a day is an achievement in itself. There’s so much clog in the Internet today most of the time you’re sorting through the crap.
Another interesting number is the time spent blogging. Hours per week. Male to female ratio of bloggers. Is it possible to make $75,000 a year blogging? I guess if you can get 100,000 visitors a month.
